Virtual Assistant

This is a casual/part-time position (approximately 10-15 hours per week) as an independent contractor supporting a local real estate agent in Strathmore, Alberta. This position allows for a flexible schedule and to work remotely from your home. 

What You'll Be Doing:

Administrative Support

You will be responsible for the following activities as required/requested:

  • Back-end website management using provided SAAS.
  • Developing real estate advertising materials (social media posts and occasional paid online advertising).
  • Technical support (e.g. file conversions and document uploads).
  • Social media management.
  • Client list management.

Short-Term Rental Property Management

You will be responsible for the following activities as required/requested:

  • Managing rental profiles and bookings on three platforms (Lodgify, VRBO, and Booking.com).
  • Respond to guest inquiries and emails.
  • Generate invoices.
  • Reach out to potential rental partners (e.g. other businesses and groups).
  • Manage social media profiles and occasionally create online social media materials promoting the short-term rental. 
Your Skills & Qualifications:
Qualifications:
  • Experience and/or education in administration, marketing, or real estate is an asset
  • Previous experience in administrative roles, social media management, or customer service preferred
  • Must have access to a reliable computer and high-speed internet
  • Comfortable working remotely and independently with minimal supervision
  • Flexible availability to respond to time-sensitive inquiries

Skills:

Administrative &Organizational

  • Strong time management and ability to multitask
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency with cloud-based tools like Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive)

Social Media & Content Creation

  • Experience using platforms like Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok for business
  • Basic graphic design skills using tools like Canva
  • Understanding of social media trends, hashtags, and basic engagement strategies
  • Ability to write engaging captions and schedule posts

Website & Technical Support

  • Comfortable with basic HTML and making minor website updates (photos, text, blog posts, listings)
  • Basic troubleshooting for plugins, layout issues, or content formatting

Short-term Rental Management

  • Comfortable communicating with guests professionally and promptly
  • Coordinating cleanings, maintenance, and check-ins/outs
  • Managing booking platforms (i.e. Lodgify, Booking.com, and VRBO)
  • Keeping property listings updated with accurate info and appealing content
  • Problem-solving mindset for handling guest concerns
